Just Do It!

What a great slogan.

I was never a fan of Nike (has to do with my favorite sport), but I do LOVE the message of this phrase and I do use it a lot!

Anyways, I’m not here to speak about that.

I’m here to speak about you and turning your talent and great ideas into a business where you can make money doing what you love!

I personally never really liked working for someone else.

Don’t get me wrong, I was a great employee, in fact, most of my previous bosses at some later point offered me to come back and work for them again but I just always wanted to do my own thing.

So I started to look into other successful people to see if there was one thing that they all had in common.

Was it luck? Well, yes they all needed that and they all got lucky at certain stages but that’s not it.

Was it their experience and extensive knowledge? hmmm....Many of them didn’t have experience or enough knowledge, so no.

Was it their great ideas? Obviously they needed to have great ideas but than, there are a lot of people with great ideas out there that didn’t make it. So, no that’s not it either.

I was expecting to find a distinctive quality that they all had, one that is very rear and that only they were blessed to be born with....

Yet, what I found was something a lot less profound and even more so, that everyone, YES ALL OF US, have it inside of us!

You see, starting a new venture means taking chances, and since you are the boss it also means that you are the one who is responsible to call the shots - which can get intimidating and even frightening!

Staying in our comfort zone is safe, it gives us a sense of control, makes us feel protected....

Unless.... we find the COURAGE to go for it and JUST DO IT!

Courage =  the ability to do something that frightens one!

Simply put - If you want to do something big you'll need to have courage!

So what I learned is that people who inspired me had the courage to do something different, to do it their own way!

They stood up for something they strongly believed in, they fought to make things the way they wanted them, they took a chance where no one else did!

For some people courage might come more naturally, while others have to "grow some balls" as they say, but never the less courage is something that we all have inside of us! We just need to work that muscle and make it stronger.

And the beauty of it is that we can start doing it anytime we want ....Like right now!

So, next time you have an idea, have a clear vision of what it should look like and then find the courage inside of you to JUST DO IT!

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
